My brother Mike & I grew up 2 houses down from the Cox family & about 5 houses over from his cousins Sherma & Gladine in our little tiwn of Happy, Tx. His upbringing by his loving parents & the great life that was Happy, shaped him into the man he became, just as it shaped each of us that were blessed by such a legacy. We're so sorry to hear of Benny's passing. I pray he left this life peacefully on his journey to be in Heaven with his loved ones & friends. God Bless each of you. Penny Flaherty & Mike Flaherty (Benny & Mike were both in the HHS Class of 1967)

Ben had worked on the Verizon outside junction boxes by the roadside. I got to chatting with him when he first came to this area. He had a pinkie finger painted a powder blue. I naturally inquired as to why. He stated, " My nine year old daughter painted my nail to remind me of her." I thought that was one very special Dad!! A kind hearted man he was. I spoke to him on several occasions as he attempted to fix the troubled lines filled with static every time it rained. He really did his very best. May he R.I.P. My condolences to his family.

Sorry Dawn , sad to hear that Bens time has come to end. So glad the two of you made the travels to Texas and we got to meet you. God bless you dear for caring for my sweet cousin and Miss Ashlee. Prayers are being said by many that knew Ben in the town of Happy, and Canyon, and Amarillo.

My entire young life has a huge "Ben" stamp on it. My parents were best friends with Ben and Chris, and I don't think I would have navigated those murky waters of "teenage angst" without them! My parents laid down the law, Ben helped teach me the good stuff I could actually use to get me through that mess! The things that mattered, how to get around the stuff that really didn't, and made sure I knew the back door was always open. Nothing but love, always!
