Obituary of Mary Adelia "Dee" Hellert

Mrs. Mary Adelia “Dee” Hellert, of Medina, passed away March 29, 2017 at home. She was helped in her final journey with support for her and her family from Hospice of Orleans County.
Mrs. Hellert was born in Akron, NY, November 20, 1924, a daughter of the late Levis and Mary (Glena) LeBlanc. A longtime member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wolcottsville, she married Donald E. Hellert at the church on February 8, 1947. The Hellert family resided in West Shelby for many years where they operated a farm. She also was employed by Fisher Price Toys for several years, retiring in 1981. Along with her husband, the Hellerts were a model for hard work and family values. She was the family matriarch; a kind and gentle devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Survivors include 4 children, Donna (Jim) Ferry, Marcia (Rob) Cook, Cindy (Jerry) Moule and Terry (Kim) Hellert; a daughter-in-law, Deb Hellert; 9 grandchildren, Amy Delano, Jennie (Willie) Wilson, Carrie (Charlie) Wilson, Ceara Ryan, Tricia (Steve) Partridge, Jeremy Moule, Heidi (Steve) Robb, Eric (Kristina) Moule and Justin (Jessica) Cook; 22 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Elsie (Walt)Williams; several nieces and nephews, and dear friend, Kay VanNostrand and special caregiver, Allie McAdoo. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald, on January 5, 2014, her son, Randy Hellert; and her brother, Leo LeBlanc.
Friends may call on Sunday (6-8) at the Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina, where her funeral service will be held on Monday at 11AM. The Rev. Craig S. Rhodenizer will officiate and interment will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, West Shelby.
