I wanted to write a little more about my life and times with our dearly departed friend. Kathleen became part of my life in 1980, and we remained friends all this time. We met in Virginia Beach, VA at a Halloween Party, and we clicked immediately. Kat and I were housemates for a few years in Virginia, after which we moved together to Florida and eventually Texas, travelling like nomads in an old VW van we bought together. Kathleen’s crazy sense of humor and adventure was very similar to mine, and there wasn’t anything we wouldn’t try together. I remember we once found our way into a abandoned hotel in downtown Sarasota, FL. What fun we had exploring that place, all the time hoping we’d encounter a ghost or two. Our adventures were full of fun and laughter, and I sure do miss those times We both loved the beaches in Sarasota, and spent most days, when not working (and some work days … who doesn’t call in sick a few times when the beach is calling)
We shared some wonderful memories, and we recently relived those days in a fun phone conversation. Kathleen was/is one of a kind. I love her.
I’m still feeling the shock after receiving that call from Jill, informing me of Kat’s passing. I just had a voice mail from Kat last week, and I’ll always regret not getting that call returned to her. I knew all about her health problems, but never imagined she’d be leaving us so soon. My heart is breaking for this tremendous loss to all her close friends and her dear family and nieces. Kat often spoke of the girls and how much joy they brought to her.
If anyone would like to speak with me about Kathleen’s last few days, or just in general about our mutual friend, please call or email me. 619-549-4820, finnegan@cox.net
I won’t be able to attend the funeral this Saturday, but my heart will be with all in attendance.
RIP Kathleen.

Kathleen enjoying the beach on one of our many beach days in Florida. She love the beach and I loved our time together whenever we hit the beach. Those were the good old days.

Kathy,
I will never forget all the belly aching laughs and smiles you allowed us to experience together. Your edgy humor and charisma always paved way to a sweet spot in our hearts. I will miss you dearly, but I will be at peace knowing you are happy now with Grandma, as Dad said, in your true home. Thank you for every joy you bestowed upon us as we grew up knowing you were always there for us. I love you Kathy.
Love, Jesi

I remember Kathy as..."When is Kathy getting to the (party, picnic, etc)" She was so much fun and was always funny and friendly. We always had so much fun at my Aunt Eileen's picnics. All us kids would play in the barn and play with the cows in the field. She was only a year younger than me and I hadn't seen her in a long time...she will be always in my memory.

Kathleen you will be & already are so missed. I am so blessed to have had you in my life this past year. I consider you an angel that came into my life and brightened up every day. Your smile & your giggle was contagious. Your sense of humor brought me up from not so good days. I'm so thankful for the holidays that we got to spend together this past year & include you in our family traditions. You brought such joy to us all. I'm holding on to your voicemails to hear your sweet voice & reminders of your cheery kind heart. I'm thankful & blessed with your text messages I saved with you praising God & encouraging me & our girls from church. Every thought about you is with a smile & I thank God for the time I've been blessed to know you. Kathleen, you definitely put a print on my heart that will last a lifetime. May you rest in peace & forever be smiling in Jesus' arms.
Tim, Jill & girls, I'm so sorry for your loss & want to thank you for bringing Kathleen in our lives. Your love you all had for each other consistently glowed & Kathleen was so very lucky to have you. She always spoke so highly of you & the love she had for you.
May you all find peace and comfort during this sad time.
