Anella Jessie (Pratt) Meland passed away Friday July 7, 2017 at Medina Memorial Hospital with her family at her side.

She was born November 24, 1923 to John D. Pratt Sr. and Lillian Mae (Donnelly) Pratt in Shelby Center. She graduated from Medina High School in 1942 and went to work at Harrison Radiator in Lockport during WWII. She married Wayne Allen Meland on May 26, 1946 at Shelby Baptist Church.

Surviving family members include one son Wayne Allen Meland Jr (Mary) of New Lenox, IL., two daughters Lynn Anella (Larry) Woodard of Riceville, TN., and Dawn Suzanne Meland of Medina. She has nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, one sister Barbara (Wayne) Caleb of Melbourne, FL., several nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years and two brothers, Harley Pratt of Pittsburgh, and John D. Pratt Jr. of Medina.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, and needlework, she also enjoyed the love from her cats. She worked at Normacks Sewing Factory in Lyndonville until 1970 when she went to Fisher Price Toys for 16 years, 8 years in Supervision. She was a Girl Scout Leader, a member of Home Bureau and Medina Association of Women.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Orleans Community Health Foundation, the Knights/Kaderli Memorial Fund, or a charity of your choice.

Friends may call on Saturday, August 12, from 1-3 PM at the Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina, where her service will follow at 3PM.  Hal Goodwin will officiate and interment will be in Boxwood Cemetery.
