Dolores R. (Rowland) Brooks
Mrs. Dolores R. Brooks, of Medina, passed away on July 26, 2017 at Orchard Manor Nursing Home surrounded by her loved ones.

Mrs. Brooks was born in Newburgh, NY on August 17, 1934, a daughter of the late Garland and Mary(Zamenick) Rowland.  She resided in the Medina and Lyndonville area for almost 50 years. 

Dolores married Dean Brooks on August 1, 1969 and with that marriage, they became a blended family of his four daughters and her two daughters and one son.  Dolores and Dean had one daughter and finally decided eight is enough!  Together, Dean and Dolores enjoyed visiting Club 469, Lincoln Post #1483, VFW, Jr. Wilson’s Sportsmen’s Club, Ranallo’s Bowling Lanes or Green Harbor Campground and participated in many a euchre game, bowling league or barbecue.  For many years, Dolores was a member of the VFW Auxiliary.  Dolores was known for having a great sense of humor and her husband and family were the most important part of her life and she will be truly missed.

She was employed in the Payroll Department at Injected Rubber/Avon Injected Rubber for many years before retiring.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Dean Brooks; children, Dolores Jean Helm (Warsaw, Missouri), Deanna (Jack) Carter, Joyce Brooks, Stella Brooks and Bobbi (Roger) May, all of Lorain, Ohio, Tamara McDermott of Reisterstown, MD, John Brooks and Bonnie Brooks of Rochester, NY; grandchildren, Neil, Troy, Eli, James, Brooks, Lindsey, Christy, KayDee, Derek, Rose, Chad, Tianna and Haley; 18 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; sisters Fran (Robert) Morris of Campbell, NY and Barbara Partington of Ft. Pierce, FL and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Garland Rowland, mother, Mary (Zamenick) Rowland; her dear grandmother Elizabeth Zamenick, brother, Richard Rowland, Sr. (2004) and Emma Stalter (1999).

In accordance with her wishes, services will be private. Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
