Obituary of Jay I. Moden

Jay I. Moden, 81, of Medina, entered into rest on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Unity Hospital in Rochester.

Mr. Moden was born on March 21, 1936 in the Town of Hartland, son of the late Walter I. and Edna (Bauer) Moden. He was a graduate of Medina High School, class of 1954. Mr. Moden worked on the family farm and went on to work as a machinist for Rochester Products, where he retired after many years. He was a lifelong member of the Ridgeway Fire Dept. and in his spare time enjoyed bowling.

Mr. Moden is survived by 4 children, Dawn (Terry) Bensley, Lori (Roger) Wilkins, David (Lauri) Moden and Jay Moden, Jr.; 3 grandchildren, Stephanie (Sean) Thomas, Melissa (Brett) Ransom and Amber Bensley; 6 great-grandchildren, Lukas, Thomas, Blake, Elin, Drew and very special great-granddaughter, Alexis; 6 siblings, Jan (Stanley) Gillmeister, Karl (Sue) Moden, Sharon (late Larry) Farrow, Beverly Nudd, Paul Moden and Scott (Roxanne) Moden; step-mother, Florence Moden; also many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by 4 brothers, Charles, Roy, George and Wayne Moden.

Friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 7-8pm at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. A graveside committal service will be held on Thursday at 11am in Wright’s Corners Cemetery, Newfane. The Rev. Rodney Klinzing will officiate.
