Obituary of Byron J. Howe

Byron J. “Pete” Howe, 71, of Medina entered into rest on Monday, January 8, 2017 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

Born December 6, 1946 in Medina, he was the son of the late Byron W. Howe and Mary (Gursslin) Hewitt.  Mr. Howe graduated from Medina High School in the class of 1965 and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Findlay. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp. from 1969-1970. Mr. Howe lived in Houston, TX for several years and in the early 1980’s returned to his hometown of Medina. Mr. Howe was an active member of Butts-Clark Post #204 American Legion.  

Survivors include his sister, Donna (late Charles, M.D.) Grizzanti; two nephews, Charles and John Grizzanti; also several cousins. Mr. Howe was predeceased by his father, Byron W. Howe; mother, Mary Hewitt and step-father, Thomas J. Hewitt, Sr.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Butts-Clark Post #204 American Legion- 305 N. Main St., Medina, NY 14103.
