Obituary of Bettie Jean Stawicki

Mrs. Bettie Jean Stawicki, of the Town of Ridgeway, passed away and went to be with the Lord on February 12, 2018 at her home.

Mrs. Stawicki was born in Olcott, December 21, 1933, a daughter of the late Edward and Marjorie (Perkins) Maynard.  A graduate of L.A. Webber High School, she was employed as a secretary by Harrison Radiator for many years and retired from Delphi Thermal Systems.  Following retirement, she graduated from Medaille College where she earned a Master’s Degree.  She then worked part time for the Arc of Orleans.  She was a lifelong resident of the area, a member of East Shelby Community Bible Church and loved her family and animals.

Survivors include 2 children, Michael (Tricia) Stawicki and Marjorie (Carl) Arnett; 3 grandchildren, Jeremy Arnett, Jennifer Arnett and Ashley Stawicki; her brother, William (Marilyn) Maynard of Lyndonville; 2 sisters, Merrie (Rev. Vincent) Iorio of Medina and Teresa (Albert) Benson of Spencerport; several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband of nearly 60 years, Thomas Stawicki on August 31, 2014;  brother, Eugene Maynard and sister, Barbara Ann Johnson.

There will be no prior calling hours.  A graveside service will be held at Bates Road Cemetery in the spring.  Memorials may be made to Friends of the Orleans County Animal Shelter, Inc.
