Obituary of Joan F. Baker
Mrs. Joan F. Baker, 92, of Lyndonville, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at the Martin-Linsin Hospice Residence.
Joan was born on October 30, 1925 in Lyndonville, a daughter of the late Floyd L. and Nellie E. (Harris) Foss. On November 27, 1943 she married Graydon S. Baker and was a lifelong Lyndonville resident. She was employed by the Lyndonville Central Schools in the cafeteria for five years and at Citizens State Bank for twenty seven years as a bank teller in Lyndonville, retiring in 1987. Joan was a member of the Yates Baptist Church. She was a church organist for over seventy years.
Survivors include her two sons, Stephen C. Baker of Medina and Stewart P. (Linda) Baker of Medina; her grandson, Paul (Meagan) Baker of Arlington, TX; her great grandson, Graydon Baker; her sister, Esther (late Gordon L.) Baker of Canandaigua, NY, brothers, Charles W. (Joyce Staines) Foss of Orlando, FL and Robert F. (late Marcia) Foss of Virginia Beach, VA; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Graydon, on January 11, 2012 and her sister-in-law, Doris Foss.
There will be no prior visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at the Yates Baptist Church in Lyndonville on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 10:30AM with a luncheon to follow in the fellowship hall. Private burial will be in Lynhaven Cemetery, Lyndonville.
