Obituary of Theda L. Rosenbeck
Mrs. Theda L. Rosenbeck, a longtime resident of Knowlesville and Medina, passed away late Monday evening, June 4, 2018 at Orchard Manor Nursing Home.
Mrs. Rosenbeck was born in the Town of Barre, December 23, 1930, a daughter of the late Merle T. and Edna Louise (Gregory) Draper, Sr. A graduate of Medina High School, class of 1949 and Bryant and Stratton College, she married Joseph P. Rosenbeck on November 17, 1951. She was employed by the family business, Draper Trucking, as a bookkeeper. She then was the bookkeeper and co-owned and operated Joe’s Truck and Tractor with her husband. She worked at Fisher-Price Toys for many years and following retirement was employed by both Jubilee Foods in Medina and the Oak Orchard Elementary School as a teacher’s aide.
Mrs. Rosenbeck was deeply religious and was a longtime, active member of the United Methodist Church of the Abundant Harvest and leader of the United Methodist Women’s Group. She enjoyed basketball and baseball and was an avid New York Yankees fan. She never missed any of her children or grandchildren’s baseball games. She was an avid bowler and won many high average awards. She had great love for her family and church. She will be remembered for always putting others before herself.
Survivors include her children, Kathleen A. (Michael P.) McCauley and Joseph M. (Patricia A.) Rosenbeck; 7 grandchildren, Todd (Daphne) Hughes, Rick (Brenda) Hughes, Lori (Dean) Lugo, Jimbo (Stephanie) Cau, Joseph T. Rosenbeck, Jacob (Kayla) Rosenbeck, Jessica Rosenbeck; 8 great grandchildren, Jason Hughes, Nicholas (Ariel Lugo) Hughes, Gracie Hughes, Autumn (Donnell) Holloway, Jordan Lugo, Jayden Lugo, Saige Cau and Karlee Cau; 4 great-great grandchildren, McKinlee and Delaney Hughes, Brynlee and Bryson Holloway; 2 sisters-in-laws, Barbara Draper and Harriet Draper; several nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph P. who died in 1991, her brothers Merle, Robert and Donald Draper, and sister-in-law Maria Draper.
Friends may call on Thursday (4-7) at the Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina, where her funeral service will be held at 7PM following calling hours. A graveside committal service will be held at 1:30 Friday at Millville Cemetery.
