Obituary of Cecelia V. Feldman
Mrs. Cecelia V. Feldman, of Lyndonville, passed away on June 6, 2018 at the Martin-Linsin Hospice Residence.
Mrs. Feldman was born in the Town of Carlton, December 10, 1935, a daughter of the late John and Victoria (Cotriss) Hoffman. A graduate of Medina High School, class of 1953 she was a member of the first graduating class of Genesee Community College and a 1971 graduate of SUNY Brockport. On August 15, 1953, she married William H. Feldman.
Mrs. Feldman was employed by the Medina Central School District, as an elementary teacher in the Oak Orchard School for twenty four years retiring in 1995. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Parish/St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Lyndonville. She was a Direct Care Volunteer with Hospice of Orleans for many years. In 1950, she was the New York State Pie Baking Champion. She had a great sense of humor, was a skilled baker who shared talents with friends and neighbors, and a stained glass crafter.
Survivors include her husband, William; three children, Claire (Ed) Salvatore, Lisa (Ed) Smith and Timothy (Tina) Feldman; 5 granddaughters, Emily Salvatore (Tyler), Valerie Salvatore (Chris), Margaret (Andrew), Elizabeth, and Abigail Feldman; 5 great grandchildren, Chase, Atley, Maxim, Mirin and Serenity; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 5 siblings, Max (Christine) Hoffman, Margaret (Franklyn) Neal, John (Geraldine) Hoffman, Lawrence (Doris) Hoffman and Elizabeth (Duane) Albee.
Friends may call on Saturday at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Lake Parish/St. Joseph’s Church, 38 Lake Ave., Lyndonville followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lyndonville Area Foundation for scholarships or Hospice of Orleans.
