Obituary of Irene B. Cichocki

Irene B. Cichocki, of Akron, died on Friday, August 24, 2018 as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

She was born in the Town of Darien, May 6, 1938, a daughter of the late Edward and Bertha (Dombrowski) Kreiger-Budzynski.  She attended Batavia schools and was a lifelong resident of the area.  Irene was active in many area Senior Citizen groups.  She enjoyed attending the Senior Citizens of Western Orleans, Akron-Newstead, Clarence and Amherst Senior Centers.  She was a member of the Women of the Moose and attended Our Lady of the Lakes Parish/St. Joseph’s Church in Lyndonville.

Survivors include 5 children, Richard G. (Patricia), Jr., Lisa (Elaine) Cichocki-Lalka, Charlene Walsh, Randall and Reginald (Anna); 5 grandchildren, Richard S. Swierczynski, Kelly and Patrick Walsh, Chelsea and Erica Cichocki; the father of her children, Richard G. (Velma) Sr.  She was predeceased by many siblings and cousins in the Dombrowski family.

Friends may call on Thursday (4-8) at the Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina.  The Rev. Daniel J. Fawls will celebrate her Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 11AM at Holy Trinity Parish/St. Mary’s Church.  Interment will be in Bates Road Cemetery.
