Obituary of Ruth Charache Dean

Ruth “Squeek” Charache Dean, 83, of Medina, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018.

Born April 15, 1935 in Oneida, NY, she was the daughter to the late Hugh and Eunice (Phillips) Coe. Ruth was a stay at home mother. She was known as mom throughout the neighborhood. Ruth enjoyed doing ceramics and many other types of arts and crafts. She has lived in Middleport, Anchorage, Alaska and she spent the last 53 years living in Medina.

 

She is survived by her 5 children, Harry (Jen), Rick (Judy), Vicki, Henry (Tracey) Charache and Sandy (Don) Nowicki; Ruth had numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 brothers, Neil and Dewey Coe; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews; and her lifelong friend, Linda Lindsley. Besides her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her sister, Polly and her very special partner, George Reid.

 

Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 7th from 3-6p.m. at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina where her funeral service will immediately follow at 6p.m. The Rev. Neil Coe will officiate. Graveside committal service will be in Peterboro Cemetery in Town of Smithfield, NY, Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018 at 1PM.
