Obituary of Ruth O. Kepner

Ruth Olive Kepner, 85, passed away peacefully, Saturday morning, May 18, 2019 at Medina Memorial Hospital surrounded by family.

 

She was born December 12, 1933 to the late Herbert and Mabel (Smith) Brant of Medina.

 

Loved and adored by many as “Grandma Ruth” or “Aunt Ruthie”, she spent her entire life in the Medina area. She worked at the former Fisher-Price Toy Company for many years and spent her remaining years enjoying life the best she could. Ruth enjoyed camping and traveling when the opportunity presented itself. She was a member of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte and was a former member of Post #1483, V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.  Ruth loved music, especially Willie Nelson and loved to support the Buffalo Bills.

 

Ruth leaves behind many family and friends including her sons, Paul Lindsley, Sr., Kenneth Lindsley, Thomas (Dorine) Kepner, Sr. and Gerald Kepner; ten grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; and her brother, Herbert Brant, Jr. of Medina and sister, Shirley Hackmer of Lakeland, FL.  She was predeceased by her son, Michael Lindsley; siblings, Verna (Chet) Boryszewski, Althea (Roger) Berry and Lawrence Brant; and daughter in-law, Cathy (Dunn) Lindsley.

 

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 22nd from 4-7 p.m. at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. Her memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, May 23rd at 11 a.m. Reverend Dean Shingleton will officiate and burial will take place in Boxwood Cemetery.
