Obituary of Barbara J. Parada
Barbara J. Parada, 82, of Bonita Springs, FL, formerly of Medina, entered into rest on August 7, 2019 in Naples, FL.
Born June 18, 1937 in Batavia, Barbara was a daughter of the late John and Irene (Schriener) Bloom. She was a graduate of Batavia High School. She married Edward F. Parada, Jr. on Aug. 26, 1961 and together raised their family in Medina. Barbara was a longtime parishioner of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus R.C. Church in Medina. She was a member of the Rosary Society and the Medina Mustang Band Boosters. An avid Elvis fan, she enjoyed listening to 50’s music. Barbara worked as a baker in the cafeteria at Medina Central School and had baked and decorated many wedding and graduation cakes for families around the area. An amazing baker, Barbara will be best remembered for her delicious chocolate chip cookies.
Survivors include her daughter, Michele A. (Michael) Standish of Naples, FL; son, Michael E. (Kathleen) Parada of Adams, MA; five grandchildren, Dr. Matthew P. (Marisa) Tracey of Johnstown, PA, Kyle J. Parada of Bonita Springs, FL, Nathan E. Standish of Naples, FL, Ryan M. Parada of Adams, MA and Katherine E. Standish of Naples, FL; brothers and sisters in-law, Eugene Wanecski, Mary Jane Szczechowiak, Anthony Parada and Maxine Parada; also several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Beside her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Edward F. Parada, Jr. on May 12, 2006; her daughter, Jolene M. Tracey on Aug. 7, 2014 and son in-law, Thomas Tracey also in 2014; and sister, Nancy L. Wanecski on July 2, 2003.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, Aug 13th from 4-7 p.m. at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Aug 14th at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, St. Mary’s Church, Medina. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
