Obituary of Florence D. Andrews

Florence D. Andrews, 98, of Medina, entered into rest on Sunday, January 5, 2020.

Born February 10, 1921, in Medina, she was a daughter to the late Joseph and Mary (Mortka) Kubatek. She married Daniel M. Schultz, Sr. on November 28, 1940. She managed the cafeteria system for Medina Central School District for 20 years. Sadly, her husband Daniel predeceased her in 1967. She remarried in 1968 to Edward Andrews. Mrs. Andrews then worked for Fisher-Price Toys for 15 years and for Bernz-O-Matic for a brief period. She was a longtime parishioner of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus R.C. Church in Medina, where she was a member of the Rosary Society. She was currently a parishioner of Holy Trinity Parish, St. Mary’s Church. Cooking and baking were her passions and she adored spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.

Survivors include her three children, Dolores (Gene) Mathes of Evans, GA, Daniel M. (Karen) Schultz, Jr. of Lyndonville and Linda M. Flower of Medina; six grandchildren, Gina Kelvington, Scott (Kathleen) Schultz, Renee' (David) Meese, Susan (John) Winfree, Lori (Rob) Brien and Thomas S. (Alicia Thiel) Flower; fourteen great-grandchildren, Brandon, Ryan, Justin, Jennifer, Samantha, Mackenzie, Maximilian, Aaron, Christian, Alex, Jenna, Julia, Abigail and Owen; a great-great-granddaughter, Emme Kaye; sister, Bernice Sheldon; and many nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents and first husband, Daniel, she was predeceased by her second husband, Edward Andrews in 1980; brothers, Waldemar, Francis and Stanley Kubatek; sisters, Adeline Schultz and Helen Mauragis; daughter-in-law, Kathlene Schultz; and dear friend and neighbor, Dorothy Nowak.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, Jan. 10^th from 4-7 p.m. at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Parish, St. Mary’s Church, 211 Eagle St., Medina. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Trinity Parish.
