Obituary of Paul D. Beauchesne

Paul David “Grandpaul” Beauchesne (70) went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Buffalo General Hospital following a very short illness. Born on January 12, 1946 in Rochester, NY he was the son of the late Ludger “Jerry” and Mabel (Schreib) Beauchesne. Paul was raised in Rochester, NY and moved to Albion in the early 1980's and to Medina in 2006. He worked for Eastman Kodak for 25 years and then Valeo, Inc. till his retirement in 2003. He also served 20 years in the army, both active duty and reserves. He served for a year in Vietnam. Paul was a member of the Carlton United Methodist Church where he served on the Pastor Parish Relations Committee, lay member to annual conference and various other committees. He was an honorary member of the UMC of the Abundant Harvest - Knowlesville location. He was a volunteer with the Orleans County Veterans Service Agency where he delivered meals and provided transportation to local Veterans for many years. He was an expert on the history of the Civil War and Titanic tragedy. He was an avid reader, crossword puzzle solver, a go to GOPHER person and up to date on all political issues. He had a wonderful singing voice and could belt out Frank Sinatra songs better than Frank, himself. He loved karaoke and developed a local following at the Old Mill Run restaurant in Medina. He was respected and loved by his immediate family, friends and his extended family. He was especially proud of his daughter, Melisa, and her career accomplishments and her upcoming wedding. He will be tremendously missed by everyone who loved and knew him. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Barbara (Locke) Beauchesne, and his father and mother-in-law, Robert and Rita Locke. He is survived by his wife of almost 10 year, Ruth Higgins; his daughter Melisa (Mike Ellis) Beauchesne; his sister Nancy Moore; his stepchildren Darlene (Jim) Hunt, JR (Marilyn) Higgins, Donna (Ken) Black and Danielle Higgins; his sister-in-laws Sue (John) Stoffel, Ellen (Scott) Gilmour, Rita (Tony) Pettine, and Leslie (Alex) Renzi; brother-in-laws Greg (Kathy) Locke, Steve (Annette) Locke and Vern Bacon; mother-in-law Martha Bacon; 9 step-grandchildren, cousins, and many nieces and nephews. A private burial will take place at Mt. Albion cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Carlton United Methodist Church or Orleans County Joint Veterans Council, 13996 Route 31, Albion, NY 14411 Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Paul's life on Sunday, June 12th. At the Carlton United Methodist Church. The service will begin at 2:00 pm with Military Honors being accorded by members of Butts-Clark Post #204, American Legion and Lincoln Post #1483, VFW and will be immediately followed by a time of fellowship. Suits and black clothing won’t be necessary. Bright clothes, Hawaiian and/or Patriotic attire is an appropriate way to honor his legacy.
