Obituary of Stewart P. Baker

Stewart was born on February 4, 1949 in Medina, a son of the late Graydon S. and Joan E. (Foss) Baker. On July 4, 1985 he married Linda A. Newton of Chittenango, NY. The couple made their home in Medina until moving to Arlington, Texas in 2018. He was employed by the United States Postal Service in Medina for 35 years, retiring in 2006. Stewart was a member of the Yates Baptist Church in Lyndonville, where he served as the financial secretary for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Linda of Arlington, TX; son, Paul C. (Meagan) Baker of Arlington, TX; grandson, Graydon J. Baker; brother, Stephen C. Baker also of Arlington, Texas; brothers-in-law, James (Bonnie) Newton and Daniel (late Theresa) Newton; his aunt, Esther Baker; and uncles, Charles Foss and Robert Foss.

There will be no prior visitation hours. A memorial service will be held at the Mayfield Road Baptist Church in Arlington, TX in the coming weeks. At a later date, a memorial service will be held at the Yates Baptist Church in Lyndonville. Private burial will be in Lynhaven Cemetery, Lyndonville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Yates Baptist Church, 11365 East Yates Center Rd., Lyndonville, NY 14098. Arrangements are in the care of Cooper Funeral Home, Medina.
