Obituary of Stanley R. Kubatek

Mr. Stanley R. Kubatek, of Kannapolis, NC, formerly of Medina passed peacefully into eternal life surrounded by family at home on Saturday, June 11, 2016.
Mr. Kubatek was born on March 28, 1929 in Medina, a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Mortka) Kubatek. He was a graduate of Medina High School, Class of 1948 and NY State Police Academy. He served 22 years in the NYS Army National Guard and US Army Reserve retiring in 1975 with the rank of Major. Stanley served with the Medina Police Department for 10 years resigning as Lieutenant to accept a position as the Orleans County Civil Defense Director. Prior to retirement he was the Asst. Director of Real Estate and Management for OTB of Western NY. Stanley was very involved in area politics; he was elected to the Village of Medina Board of Trustees, Councilman and Supervisor of the Town of Ridgeway and County of Orleans Board of Supervisors and served as the Orleans County Republican Chairman.
Survivors include daughters, Judy Waszak of Medina, and Andrea (Robert) Palo of Concord, NC; grandchildren, Nicole (Kenny) James of Kannapolis, NC, Stephanie (Randy Harris) Waszak, of Medina, Robert (Catherine) Palo of Tampa, FL, and Adam (Aleshia) Palo of Lewisburg, PA; great granddaughters Tara Lamb-Palo of Kannapolis, NC, Adalina Palo of Tampa, FL, and Emily and Morgan James of Lyndonville; 3 sisters, Florence Andrews, Bernice Sheldon, and Helen Mauragis all of Medina. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and his loving grand dog Lacy Renee James.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by grandson Steven Waszak, brothers Waldy and Frank Kubatek and sister Adeline Schultz.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, July 23rd at 11AM at Holy Trinity Parish, St. Mary’s Church, Medina, celebrated by The Rev. Daniel J. Fawls. Military honors will be accorded at graveside at Sacred Heart Cemetery by members of Butts-Clark Post #204, American Legion and Lincoln Post #1483, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
