James F. Lindsay passed away on Friday, May 22, 2020.

He was born on August 6, 1930 in Rochester, New York a son of the late Elsie and Elwyn Lindsay. Jim graduated from Medina High School in 1948 and was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1951 during the Korean War. Stationed in France, he served as an Army medic and was discharged in 1953. In May of that same year, he married his high school sweetheart, the former Sally King. They resided in Medina where he worked for his father at Lindsay/Gregory (now Case’s Paint). He also worked for Bramer Electric and ended his career, retiring in 1993 as an electrician at Harrison Radiator in Lockport.

Jim loved his family above everything and was always there to help when needed.  He was a handyman who could fix anything and was very generous with his talents in the community. He volunteered for Meals on Wheels, was a charter member of the American Legion and was a long-time member of the Medina United Methodist Church.  Jim enjoyed playing euchre, he “never lost 2 games in a row”, and enjoyed discussing current events with his friends.

He was predeceased by his sister, Elsie May and a daughter in-law, Cynthia Lindsay.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Sally Lindsay; son, David (Brenda) Lindsay; daughter, Carol (Dean) Bellack all of Medina; grandchildren, Emily (Joel) Stavange, Rebecca (Ben) Schiffer, Jake Lindsay, Adam (Yana) Bellack and Aleena (Robert) Emerson; and three great-grandchildren; Harriet, Mabel and Cameron.

Services will be privately held and a graveside committal service will be held in Boxwood Cemetery at a later date. The family appreciates any memorials to be made to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are in the care of Cooper Funeral Home, 215 West Center St., Medina.
