Mr. Norman E. Starkweather, 79, of Albion, passed away June 15, 2016 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born in the Town of Barre, August 3, 1936, a son of Louie and Alma (Brunning) Starkweather. Norm was a lifelong resident of Albion and graduated from Albion High School. He joined the US Army in 1955 and served for two years, including a tour in Italy. Norm enjoyed riding his motorcycle, telling a story about his motorcycle mishap, telling jokes, (even some corny ones), being funny and watching his westerns. Norm worked for Rice Homes for several years. He owned and operated Starkweather Construction until he retired in 2005. He sure could drive that bulldozer. Norm is predeceased by his father and mother, Louie and Alma Starkweather, his first wife, Marcia Thaine Starkweather, his granddaughter, Brandy Starkweather and step daughter, Patricia Stahl. Norm is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Wright) Starkweather; sons, Doug Starkweather and Jeff Starkweather; step daughter, Jacqueline (Joseph) Vasquez; grandchildren, Michael (Laura) Starkweather, Justin Starkweather, Mitchell Starkweather, Morgan Haak; great grandchildren, Lily, Leah, and Madden Starkweather. Friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service on Tuesday at 1PM at the Free Methodist Church, 25 S. Platt St., Albion. Interment will be in Mt. Albion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials, in Norm’s name, may be made to Hospice of Orleans County, POB 489, Albion, NY 14411
