Obituary of Robert R. Boyer

Robert R. Boyer, 88, of Medina entered into rest on June 8, 2020 following a lengthy illness.

 

Born October 6, 1931 in Lockport, Mr. Boyer was the son of the late Roger and Mabel (Martin) Boyer. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War from 1951-1955. On June 27, 1953, he married the former Joan Wilson. He was employed as a steel worker for Simonds Saw & Steel in Lockport for 32 years. After retirement he went back to work for the Medina Central School District as a custodian for 10 years. Mr. Boyer and his wife were longtime active members of the First Baptist Church in Medina. He also volunteered for the ARC of Orleans and served as an advisor/quartermaster for Boy Scout Troop #32 in Medina. Besides being active with his church and volunteer work, Mr. Boyer also was an avid gardener and hunter.

 

Mr. Boyer was predeceased by his wife, Joan W. Boyer on January 5, 2015.

 

Survivors include his sons, Alan R. (Lisa) Boyer of Greece, NY and Paul S. (Katherine) Boyer, Sr. of Lawrenceville, GA; grandchildren, Tricia L. Titus of Lancaster, SC, Robert A. Boyer of Las Vegas, NV, Paul S. Boyer, Jr. and Molly C. Boyer both of Lawrenceville, GA; and great-grandson, Aiden L. Titus of Lancaster, SC.

 

Services will be held at a later date to be announced. Interment will be in Lynhaven Cemetery, Lyndonville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, 203 W. Center St., Medina, NY 14103 or to the ARC of Genesee Orleans, 64 Walnut St., Batavia, NY 14020. Arrangements are in the care of Cooper Funeral Home, Medina.
