Obituary of Douglas J. Hinds

Douglas J. Hinds, 66, of Gasport, entered into rest on Friday, August 21, 2020 at the Medina Memorial Hospital.

 

Born December 28, 1953 in Buffalo, Doug was a son of the late Patrick and Rose (Lucci) Hinds. He married the former Patricia Seefeldt in 1987. Doug was a longtime and active member of both the Shawnee and Wolcottsville Volunteer Fire Companies. He enjoyed bowling, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed classic cars and being around the classic car scene. Dedicated to his family, Doug most of all enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren and he loved his animals dearly.

 

Doug is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Hinds of Gasport; son, Shawn (Shannon Blount) Ramsey of Medina; grandchildren, Isabel and Jackson Ramsey; two brothers, Robert (Ellen) Hinds of Rochester and David Hinds of Buffalo; nephew, Marc Hinds; and niece, Kelly Hinds.

 

Doug and his family would like to thank the staff of Medina Memorial Hospital for all they have done throughout the years.

 

A Celebration of Doug’s Life will be held at a later date, at the Shawnee Volunteer Fire Co. pavilion, 3747 Lockport Rd., Sanborn, NY 14132. Masks and social distancing will be mandatory. Memorials in Doug’s honor may be made to the Shawnee Volunteer Fire Co. (address above) or to the Wolcottsville Volunteer Fire Co., 6337 Wolcottsville Rd, Akron, NY 14001. Arrangements are in the care of Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina, NY 14103.
