Obituary of Karen R. Enderby

Karen R. Enderby, 78, of Medina entered into rest on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at the Martin-Linsin Hospice Residence in Albion.

Born August 3, 1942 in Fulton, NY she was a daughter of the late Robert and Ruth (Haskins) Rose. Karen was a first grade teacher at the Oak Orchard Elementary School. She began her teaching career in 1964 and retired in 1999. She also mentored for five years after. She was a member of the Medina Teacher’s Association, the Retired Teacher’s Association, the Cotillion Club and the Delta Kappa Gamma Society. Karen was a member of the United Methodist Church in Medina, Junior-Wilson Sportsman’s Club and was a TWIG volunteer at the Medina Memorial Hospital. Karen enjoyed reading, watching a good movie, shopping, Monday’s with the Girls, and especially cooking and baking and was known for her delicious chocolate chip cookies.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, James F. Enderby of Medina; son, Robert (Marie) Arnold of Akron; daughter, Renée (Bob) Enright of Penfield; daughter in-law, Rachel Arnold of FL; grandchildren, Ryan, Kevin, Haley, Justin (Cameron), Evan, Mason, Mariah, Stephen, Kara and Darren; a sister, Suzanne Hendricks; nieces, Heather and Wendy; stepchildren, Michael (Sue) Enderby, Timothy (Lisa) Enderby, Thomas (Erika) Enderby and Kathy McCollum; step-grandchildren, Hali, Mitch, Anna, Charlie, Allyssa (Richard) and Amanda (Matt).

Predeceased by son, Michael Arnold; and step-grandson, Cal McCollum.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, Nov. 6^th from 11:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. Masks and social distancing will be mandatory. A Graveside committal service will be held the same day at 3:30 p.m. in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Shelby. Memorial donations in Karen’s memory may be made to Hospice of Orleans, P.O. Box 489, Albion, NY 14411 or to the Grove United Methodist Church, 11004 W. Center St. Ext., Medina, NY 14103.
