Ruth Mae (Rand) Howard Smith “G.O.A.T. Momma”, of Medina, went Home to the Lord on July 13, 2016. She was born in Safford, AL, March 8, 1937, a daughter of the late Ben “Man” and Julia Mae (Cater) Rand, Jr. She was employed by Angelica Corporation in Batavia and was a 36 year member of Calvary Tabernacle Assembly of God Church. Mrs. Smith enjoyed fishing, bingo, sewing, quilting and playing cards. Survivors include her children, Lulu (late James)Richardson, Roosevelt (Judy) Howard, Jr., Gloria (Ronnie) Williams, Raymond Howard, Teddy (Karen) Howard and Eli (Jana) Howard; 16 grandchildren, Robert, III, Tyrone, Charles, Anthony, Amber, Karen, Nick, Greg, Emily, Raymond, Jr., Devonte, Tyler, Nina, Gia, Jelia and Kylee; 26 great grandchildren; her sister, Eva Watts host of nieces nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her 1st husband, Roosevelt Howard, on April 12, 1975; 2nd husband, Nathaniel Smith on June 3, 2001; 2 sisters, Eleanor and Arlene; and 3 brothers, C.W., Willie and Walter. Friends may call on Monday 12-2PM at Calvary Tabernacle Assembly of God Church, 324 Catherine St., Medina, where her Home Going Celebration will be held at 2PM. Interment will be in Boxwood Cemetery.
