Obituary of Geraldine S. Owens

Geraldine S. “Gerry” Owens, age 95, of Medina, entered into rest on Monday, April 26, 2021 at the Medina Memorial Hospital.

Born January 5, 1926 in Middleport, she was a daughter of the late Duane E. and Ruby (Geiger) Stahl. She was a graduate of Royalton-Hartland High School. Mrs. Owens worked in clerical positions for many years for Lapp Express and also for the Apple Grove Inn in Medina. She had many fond years of vacationing at Lake Nipissing, Ontario with her late husband, June Owens and family. A compassionate person, Mrs. Owens loved animals, and most of all loved her family.

Predeceased by her husband of 28 years, Walter “June” Owens in 1975; her son, James Owens in 2010; and brother, Duane Stahl, Jr. in 2017.

Survivors include her loving daughter, Kathleen (Michael) Cardone; daughter in-law, Amy Owens; grandchildren, Michaela Cardone, Tèanna Cardone, Josalyn Owens, Max Owens and Austin Owens; great grandsons, Ashton and Denver; nephews, Dr. David (Marcia) Stahl and John (Karen) Stahl; and niece, Patricia (Victor) Pane.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the caring staff at Medina Memorial Hospital- North Wing and Dr. David Stahl and Dr. Celeste Stahl-Balaban for taking such great care of Gerry in her final years.

Services will be privately held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Medina Memorial Hospital- North Wing Activities Dept., 200 Ohio St., Medina, NY 14103 or to PAWS Animal Shelter, 3371 Gaines Basin Rd., Albion, NY 14411. Arrangements are in the care of Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina.
