Obituary of Sherry V. Callara

Sherry V. Callara, 74, of Medina entered into rest on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Unity Hospital in Rochester.

Born on February 15, 1947 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Dutch Harvey and Bernice (Palon) Carpenter. A longtime resident of Medina, Sherry was the owner-operator of Callara’s Taxi Service in Medina. She enjoyed spending time with her great-grandbabies, whom she loved dearly.

Predeceased by her husband, Peter J. Callara in 2014; daughter, Lisa B. Callara in 2011; son, Jacob Callara in 2019; and siblings, Jack Suter, Kenneth Carpenter and Steven Carpenter.  

Survivors include her son, Dino J. Callara; daughter in-law, Karen Sanders; grandchildren, Jewel Fidanza, Monique (Gary) Hampson, Brennen Callara (Danesha Bonk), Dominick Callara and Logan Callara; great-grandchildren, Jace, Jaxen, Juliette Hampson, Peyton and Preston Callara; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 18^th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 West Center St., Medina, NY 14103. Her graveside committal service will be held on Friday, June 11^th at 12:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Medina.
