William D. Horton, 89, of Medina, passed away on July 14, 2021.

He was born on June 18, 1932, a son of the late Adelaide (Morris) Sabourin and Lloyd Horton. Born and raised in Niagara Falls, New York, William went on to serve our country in the United States Navy from 1949-1953 and was stationed in Quantico, Virginia. He worked as a dental technician while in the service. He met and married the former Carole Burkett and together they raised a family of three children. They lived in Connecticut for many years, where William had a career with the Kimberly-Clark Corp. Upon retirement, he and his wife returned to the western New York area.

William is survived by his wife of 68 years, Carole Horton; his three children, Lyn (Bruce) Galley of Sanborn, New York, Marlene (Gary) Hill of Medina, New York and James (Laurie) Horton of Torrington, Connecticut; grandchildren, Randall Galley, David and Daniel Hill and David, Michelle and Sherianne Horton; seven great-grandchildren, who all will miss him dearly; and two nieces and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Horton of Lockport, New York.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked that memorial donations in William’s name be made to the Arc of Genesee Orleans- Camp Rainbow Fund, 122 Caroline St., Albion, NY 14411. Arrangements are in the care of Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina.
