Obituary of Joan E. Hartway

Joan E. Hartway, age 78 of Medina, entered into rest at her home on Saturday, September 18, 2021.

Born October 29, 1942 in Medina, Joan was a daughter of the late Charles and Martha (Mauragis) Hartway. She was a graduate of Medina High School, class of 1960. She was a lifelong parishioner of Holy Trinity RC Parish, St. Mary’s Church in Medina. Joan worked as a bookkeeper at Al Maroone Ford in Buffalo for many years. Earning a pilot’s license in her younger years, Joan had a passion for flying and enjoyed taking various flights with her nieces and nephews. She was an avid New York Yankees fan. Joan also had a love for Irish music and, having travelled to Ireland herself, enjoyed Irish pubs.

Joan was the beloved sister of Charles (Bonnie) Hartway and Paul D. Hartway; cherished aunt of Lisa (Timothy) Enderby, Jennifer (James) Bansbach, Charles J. (Darlene) Hartway, Bridgett DiCureia, Richard (Marie) Hartway, Emily (Lee) Winters, Kara Muscarella, Amanda (Eric) Hoban and Matthew Hartway; and great-aunt to several great-nieces and nephews.

A private graveside committal will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Medina at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are in the care of Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina.
