Carole O. Horton, of Medina passed away at the age of 89 on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Absolut Care of Gasport.

Carole was born in Cooter, Missouri, an only child to the late Jessie C. and Iris C. (Michie) Burkett on January 17, 1933. She grew up in the small community of Holcomb, Missouri. On December 15, 1951 she married William D. Horton and together they raised a family of three children. The couple lived in Niagara Falls for many years and in 1972 moved to Connecticut. After retirement, they moved back to Western New York, first to Lockport and finally to Medina. Carole enjoyed gardening, embroidery and loved to sew.

Carole was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Horton on July 14, 2021.

Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Lyn (Bruce) Galley of Sanborn, Marlene (Gary) Hill of Medina and James (Laurie) Horton of Torrington, Connecticut; grandchildren, Randall Galley, David and Daniel Hill and David, Michelle and Sherianne Horton; seven great-grandchildren; and two nieces and a nephew.

Private interment will be in Boxwood Cemetery, Medina. In lieu of flowers, the family asked that memorial donations in her name be made to the Arc of Genesee Orleans- Camp Rainbow Fund, 122 Caroline St., Albion, NY 14411. Arrangements are in the care of Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina.
