Michael was one of the philosophy students at SUNY Potsdam who always put a smile on my face and a sense of wonder in my mind. His solution to the Pinocchio Paradox still amazes me, and I have him to thank for my abiding interest in quantum mechanics. We were friends on FaceBook after he graduated, and I am sorry that I did not know about his recent struggles. My heart goes out to his family and friends.

I knew "Mishra" from our days at SUNY Potsdam when we would congregate in the Philosophy Lounge. He was very sharp and seemed to want to absorb all the knowledge in the world, to turn it around and challenge everyone he met. It was a great day when he used his talent and skills to challenge a Linquistics Professor in class to everyone's awe.
He only mentioned his son a few times to me and when he did, he showed imense pride and love.
I leave his family with this:
Those we love don't go away,
They walk beside us everyday,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear.
Love is strongest in the dark.
May Mishra's family keep his Love always.

I think it’s safe to say that on behalf of myself as well as the graduating class of 2007, the loss of Michael has been devastating news. For 7 years of our schooling, I was lucky enough to start off every morning in the same room as Michael. He was a consistent source of support, always available to listen and to provide thoughtful feedback, but also had a great sense of humor and quick wit. He was an amazing person to be in our class since he had an ability to connect folks from all walks of life; he had positive relationships with everyone. My thoughts go out to his family and to his sweet boy.

So sad to hear of this news. Michael was an extremely hard worker and was a great asset to the music program. Being a drum major is high praise and Michael was very deserving as he led by example. It is so sad to hear of the circumstances that controlled his decision. It is a lesson that everyone has a voice no matter how soft they speak. I pray that Michael is at peace and that his family can find peace as well living with the memories of a great young man. My family will hold you all in our thoughts and prayers. Mr. Steele

I am so sad to think of a world without Michael in it. While in high school he spent many hours at my home. My daughter Kate was in the drum line with him and they were close friends. I am so very sorry for your loss of such a smart, wonderful son, nephew and brother.

Michael was a student in my AP Music Theory Class years ago and I will never, ever forget the brilliant music composition and essay he wrote. Truly one of the best. My heart goes out to Michael's entire family, along with his many friends. He was a legend in his own way and I am truly blessed to have been one of his teachers. He touched my life and I will never, ever forget him. R.I.P Michael, and don't hesitate to share your voice with the heavenly choir of angels. I've no doubts they will welcome you with open arms.
