Mrs. Diane J. Hartman, of Lyndonville, passed away on September 12, 2016 in her home with her family by her side. Mrs. Hartman was born in Medina, February 17, 1959, a daughter of the late Derwood and Dorothy (Canham) James. A graduate of Lyndonville High School, class of 1977, she married Monty Hartman in 1979. Following graduation, she worked as a dental assistant in Medina and Lockport dental practices, was an employee of Marine Midland Bank in Medina, worked at the Pennysaver Market in Lyndonville and recently worked for Driveline Merchandising Services. She was so dedicated and driven, she was given the nickname "Sarge" by those she loved. Her number one priority was taking care of and enjoying her family. She also enjoyed hummingbirds, cats, four wheeling, the color purple, gardening-especially wild flowers, rabbits, crablegs, and so much more. Direct survivors include her husband, Monty; 2 children, Nicholas and Caitlin Hartman; siblings, Derwood “Sam” (Lois) James, Jr., Douglas (Debbie) James, Denise (Steven) McAvoy, and Donna Utter. Also survived by her mother-in-law Martha Foster, sister-in-law Sandy Thaine, and several nieces and nephews. A private funeral service will be held at the Cooper Funeral Home, Medina with Pastor Linda Haight officiating. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Orleans County or a charity of one's choice.
