Mr. Martin B. “Marty” Marciniak, of Albion, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at the United Memorial Medical Center. Mr. Marciniak was born in the Town of Batavia, July 23, 1933, a son of the late Martin F. and Wanda (Trojanowski) Marciniak. A graduate of Elba High School, class of 1951, he served in the US Army from 1953-55. He was a chemical lab technician, a hog farmer, and a D.H.I.A. milk tester. Ahead of his time, he owned and operated a recycling business when recycling was not commonplace. He retired from the Albion Correctional Facility where he was a corrections officer for many years. Mr. Marciniak was a member of St. Padre Pio Parish in Oakfield. Survivors include his wife, Anna (Satkowski-Will), whom he married on April 23, 1977; 3 children, Peter (Judith) Will, Jr., Robert (Carol) Will and JoAnn (Dan) Haas; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; a niece, Emily; a nephew, Joseph; several cousins including Tadeus (Ted) Konieczka. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Richard Marciniak. Friends may call on Thursday (4-7) at the Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina, where prayers and final farewell will be offered at 8:30 Friday morning. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10AM at St. Padre Pio Parish, Oakfield by the Rev. Thaddeus Bocianowski. Interment will be in St. Cecilia’s Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by members of Joint Veterans Honor Guard of Genesee County.
