Mr. Robert W. Beecher, of Medina, passed away on January 31, 2016.
Mr. Beecher was born in Medina, May 20, 1937, a son of the late Harold and Reba (Kenyon) Beecher. A graduate of Medina High School, class of 1955, he served in the US Navy from August 22, 1956 to August 16, 1960. Mr. Beecher started his employment as a collision shop worker and then became a truck driver. He drove for Good, Red Star, Lapp Express and Consolidated Freightways, for 20 years. Following retirement, he worked for AG Chem Services in Fancher. He was a member of the Teamsters, Local 375 and attended the Medina United Methodist Church.
Bob liked socializing at local coffee shops and throughout Western New York with friends. He enjoyed car rides, working, and watching TV, and loved walking along the beach on the outer banks.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 55 years, Carolyn; 2 children, Deb Saunders and Craig Beecher; 5 grandchildren, Patrick Burchard, Brendan, Zachary and William Beecher and Alicia Wylupek; a great granddaughter, Savanna; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 2 sisters, Sonya Wilkinson and Carol Bruise and a brother, Richard Beecher.
Friends are invited to attend his memorial service on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 11AM at the United Methodist Church, 11004 West Center St. Ext., Medina. Military honors will be accorded at graveside at Boxwood Cemetery by members of Lincoln Post #1483, VFW and Butts-Clark Post #204, American Legion.
