Being in first grade is hard enough but add trying to learn how to print when you are left handed is a huge challenge at age 6. It is with fondest memories I will always remember Alice who taught me to turn the paper and not my hand to write. My sincere condolences to the entire Martin/Knights families at Alice's passing. Heaven has gained a very special Angel.

What a privilege to have known this noble, elegant, and loving teacher since being in her 1954 1st grade class! Seldom does a teacher's graciousness and professionalism remain with a student for so long, but Alice's magical touch will never be forgotten! Having the Martin Family attend our 1971 wedding - IN WISCONSIN - was a honor and overwhelming joy we will cherish always! We are sorry to be away at this time, and missing Saturday's celebration of an amazing, always-to-be-remembered lady! Her grace, class, and smile are eternal in our hearts and minds!

I can't tell you how sorry I was to hear of Alice's passing. I did not really know her, and only met her a few times. But, I had always heard so many great things about her from Margaret. It is always difficult to lose someone so close to you. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Dear MARTIN and Knights families,
Although I did not teach with Alice, her reputation as the consummate teacher went before her. I did, however, teach her wonderful grandchildren and many of her grand nieces and nephews, all of whom were outstanding individuals. I cannot tell you how lucky the children whose lives she touched are and particularly her very special, Alyssa, Sarah and Ben. Medina has indeed been blessed by Alice Martin's life and dedication to children. Please accept my sincere condolences. Mary Jane Thurston

Bill (Sue) and Margaret,
Sincerest sympathies in your loss. Your mom was a generous, inspiring, wonderful woman, who passed those traits on to many folks, not the least of those her children. I am blessed to have known and worked with her for many years.
God bless you and yours
Love,
Jan Cramer

Heartfelt prayers and condolences to her family. Mrs. Martin was my first grade teacher and as an adult, I have often thought about what an impression she left on me. I had an accident in first grade that left me facially disfigured for weeks and I remember Mrs. Martin not skipping a beat and making me feel comfortable. Not only was her teaching style impressive, but she was a person to emulate. Fly high Mrs. Martin...your angel wings are well deserved.

... sending our love, prayers, and deepest sympathy.
I had such a great 1st grade teacher, Mrs Alice Martin, who brought out the absolute best in her students and made learning so much fun. As a teacher, I often thought of her and tried my best to do the same in my classroom.
May she Rest In Peace and be welcomed by the angels and saints to eternal life.
